A few weeks back I had the pleasure of going to the Dianne Tanzer gallery and projects for the opening of Eugenia Lim’s show “Oasis”. Lim’s interpretation of the cultural phenomenon known as Hikikomori was haunting and mesmerizing. Crazy eyes and high gloss sushi, I felt like I was in a mental meltdown.
In between glasses of wine and witty conversation I noticed the plethora of beautifully dressed gorgeous women and it reminded me of a conversation I had with two friends on the weekend. My beautiful and talented friend Danielle mentioned that Melbourne reminded her of the island that Wonder Woman was from. You know the one with the statuesque intelligent Amazonian woman. We Googled it and discovered that the island was called, “Paradise Island”. Children of the 70’s will remember a super hot Wonder Woman in that amazing invisible plane.
